A shot from the past
Many moons ago, in a land far, far away, I went to school in Orlando, Florida. I stayed in a three-bedroom apartment with 2 other guys, and it was a pretty good time. However there were a few times that were a bit more memorable, but not necessarily in a very good way. This is one of those “God-things” that people often talk about, mostly due to the odds that ANY other night, I would have been precisely in the wrong place at the wrong time for this event. I’m sharing with you an old record of memory I have stored away from a couple years ago during this time in Orlando. So without further adieu:

“Soooo… pretty much last night we had somebody shoot 6 shots into our apartment from out back through our huge sliding door… I was luckily at the gym at the time (about 11pm) and sean and jack were each in their rooms, so nobody was hurt. Its scary because normally I’d get home right at 11 from the gym, and be making food in the kitchen after working out. 3 bullets made it into the kitchen pantry/cabinets… freaky stuff. But I went to a different gym that is further away, and happen to go out to eat with a couple buddies afterward, soooo… who knows. Anyway, here’s a few pics, we’re moving into a new apartment up on the 2nd floor of a different building on Friday, then on Saturday night I leave to come back home to Alaska…”

Bullet holes from the gun...

Another picture of the glass.

The blinds before we opened them to see the window...

3 bullet holes in this wall...

Another angle of those 3 holes that also hit our front door twice.

One of the bullets actually made it through our front door...from the back of the apartment

One bullet hit the picture on the left at the bottom of the frame. Then hit the kitchen cabinet behind it. Then the other went through the top part on the right and hit the light cover and finally stopped.

The cabinet that got hit.

The window again....after they started boarding it up...

So there you have it. That was our grand adventure. Sean was LIVID. Jack was peeing his pants. I wasn’t there thank God and would have definitely been making dinner in the kitchen and that would have been a less enjoyable evening. Not that there was anything enjoyable about it.
The weird part was, the reason I wasn’t home, was I went to the gym across town that I NEVER went to, and that delayed me getting home by about half an hour, and I’m ALWAYS home in the kitchen making dinner after the gym at that time, so it was nuts!
Our neighbor was a cop, so we assume it was some gangbangers trying to get back at the cop or scare him or something, seeing as he probably had something to do with their essay being in jail.

It seems wrong to not write something on this historic day about the event taking place right now. As of this moment, Barack Hussein Obama is being sworn in as our 44th President of the United States. My hope is that his bipartisan vision will hold true, and prove as a viable solution to the problems facing our great country right now.
There’s a lot on his plate, and I guess we’ll see if he’s up to the challenge. I believe he can do it, I’m just scared of what else may come along with it, having caught bits and pieces that shot darts of fear into my blood throughout his campaign. Most people don’t realize his real views on certain important issues that could be devastating to the Christian (yes, Christian) foundation of our country. If times are to change, then so be it I suppose, but don’t pretend to be upholding the intent of the founding fathers, and don’t sway their words or ideologies to conform to our ‘advancing world.’

Ahhh, it’s that time of year where I get to sit in my room, watching my DVR for nearly 3 hours a week watching horrific attempts at stardome burst from my 37″ flat screen television. Paula, Simon, Randy, and now Kara, entertain me with your whimsical reviews of outlandish wanna-be’s.
