So my parents are back from Indonesia, finally. It was a long trip, about 11 weeks or so total I guess, but they’re home safe and sound. Time to relinquish my kingdom to its rightful owner (the house - my dad). They actually got back over a month ago now, obviously it’s been forever since I’ve written. A lot has been happening, but sadly time to write wasn’t a part of it, so I’m sure I’ll forget a lot of it.

My shoulder is healing up nicely it seems, definitely getting back into the normal routine of life again… sitting on the couch downstairs for 5 weeks wasn’t my idea of a good time. Racquetball has been slowly becoming part of my schedule again, which obviously makes me glad. I haven’t started working out yet, I’m trying to take that part a little easier, as the muscles will need to heal up and will definitely take a lot longer than the bone itself to heal. I’m trying to get some running in this week before soccer starts up on Tuesday.

The summer session of soccer will be interesting this time, we signed up to not only be a part of the mat-valley league, but the Anchorage league as well… so we’ll probably get a decent workout having Anchorage games on Sundays then the coming Tuesdays will be games out here, so at least I will be shot I’m sure. I guess it’ll whip me into shape pretty quickly though.

Last night was the last episode of Jay Leno! It was pretty good, I LOVE that he had Conan as his guest, that made it just that much better. It’ll definitely be interesting to see what Conan does with The Tonight Show. He had a collection of the best Jaywalking sessions, which I love… man oh man what morons we have around this country. I’m sure there’s people like that all over though, but it’s still sad to actually see it. I’d be so embarrased if it were me or even somebody I knew!

Also last night, after watching Terminator: Salvation, on the way home from the theater, it was raining really hard (for Alaska) and our roads are pretty crappy from the 8 months of studded tires destroying the roads - so they get huge ruts in the road and during rainstorms they get filled with water. This is pretty dang dangerous especially to people who aren’t used to hydroplaning or being skipped around the road from water.
So anyway, as we’re driving back from the theater, all the sudden a car is flipping at us from the other side of the highway, and nails the driver side of the van. It was pretty ridiculous seeing it flying at us, it all seemed really slow motion. As it was coming at us, all I could do was imagine exactly how it felt in my accident in August… I was bracing for the same sort of collision, but we were fortunate enough to just get sorta wacked from the side and it didn’t hit us too badly.
Sadly the car that hit us was totally destroyed, but somehow the kid got out right as the car settled, after flipping probably 3 times head over heals… he just got out and was perfectly fine. The car was messed up bigtime as you can see below:
Thankfully everyone is okay, and maybe we’ll get our van replaced out of it, who knows?

I’m sure there’s more to update on, but I have to take off for now, I’ll be back and hopefully get to writing more often again as usual, instead of this once-every-six-weeks-ish nonsense.
Ciao!
